Hereford Church Singers exists to provide music for churches in Herefordshire and beyond, where no permanent choir exists.
The choir was founded in 1968 and has pursued its aim, we believe with good success, during the following 50+ years, and the choir is still going strong! Our repertoire has sometimes been exclusively sacred, and sometimes secular music has been included. We are currently happy to offer both, as appropriate, although Church music is obviously our forte.

Many Choral Eucharists, Matins and Evensongs have been sung to settings both ancient and modern, and we are currently adding settings which are compatible with modern “Common Worship” services.

Many concerts have been given, often in support of fund raising events, and performances given of larger works such as Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, and Stainer’s Crucifixion.

We do not generally require a fee, but do invite donations towards our expenses. However, we do charge a fee for weddings, which is currently £300.


If you are planning a special event or service and would like to discuss the possibility of Hereford Church Singers being a part of your celebrations, please contact the Director of Music for an informal discussion about your plans. We have wide musical resources available to us and we are sure that we can offer appropriate choices for your event. Please contact us as early as possible during your planning to discuss availability and appropriate musical resources are available.
